ST. HELENA, Calif., Nov 30, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Merryvale Vineyards will release the 2008 vintage of Profile, their renowned Bordeaux-style red blend. With this vintage, the Schlatter Family commemorates the Silver Anniversary of one of the Napa Valley's most recognizable and highly acclaimed wines.
Wineries In India Merryvale Vineyards was founded in 1983 as an ultra-premium winery, and originally produced only one wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon based blend called "Napa Valley Red Table Wine." It represented the very best wine they could make in a given vintage using Bordeaux red varietals from top vineyards in the Napa Valley. With the 1987 vintage, the proprietary name "Profile" was first introduced, and thus a Napa Valley legend was born.
The Wine Society Of India Anticipation is already running high for the 2008 Profile, which Wine Enthusiast Magazine recently named their #5 Cellar Selection of 2011, and Robert Parker awarded 96 Points declaring it "the best wine Merryvale has ever produced." Throughout its development, Profile has showcased fruit from premier Napa Valley vineyards including To Kalon, Stagecoach, and Merryvale's St. Helena Estate Vineyard. That vineyard was planted in 1997 under the direction of then winemaker Bob Levy, with assistance from consultant Michel Rolland and viticulturist David Abreu, who still farms it for Merryvale today. The plush Cabernet Sauvignon, structured Petit Verdot, and perfumed Cabernet Franc from the St. Helena Estate Vineyard have been the core of Profile since the 2006 vintage. Profile is now in the care of talented Merryvale Winemakers Sean Foster and Graham Wehmeier, who bring over 30 years of experience crafting Bordeaux inspired wines in the Napa Valley.
Wines From India
With top Burgundies and Bordeaux too costly for most people, wines like those from Rioja in Spain, pictured, and from the Santa Cruz Mountains of California are getting more attention and commanding more respect.
Vineyards In India I HAVE never been one of those people who feel they live in the wrong era. I am eternally grateful, for example, to draw breath in the age of anesthesia. But I have occasionally lamented that I was born just a few years too late.
Wineries In India By the time I had some money and the inclination to splurge on wine, these historic benchmark wines had become absurdly, ridiculously overpriced.

LINDSAY CHRISTIANS — 77 Square Winemakers from Walla Walla and the Columbia Valley inWashington state visited Milwaukee to stump for their wines.
Winery In India MILWAUKEE — Wines from Washington were on the edge of a boom in2008. Small wineries were entering new markets, and people werelearning that popular label Columbia Crest came not from Napa, butfrom the Pacific Northwest.
Vineyards In India But Washington winemakers, like Wisconsinites, are hardy folk —some, like Chad and Janet Johnson of Dusted Valley, are even fromthe dairy state. (Janet is from Edgar, Chad is from ChippewaFalls.) Last year Dusted Valley and Reininger Winery came toMilwaukee to promote their wines, and the results werestriking.
