Whenever someone talks about German wine, it's usually about Riesling. The noble grape defines Germany, especially when it is from the Mosel or Rhinegau regions. This glorious varietal makes some killer wines -- and no, not all of them are sweet. In fact many good bottlings are labeled "trocken." That means dry. You should ask for and try the trocken Rieslings without fear.
Wine From India While you've most likely heard of Riesling, you may not know about Franken wine. Not Frankenstein wine but Franken wine. Franconia (Franken) is one of the 13 wine regions in Germany. I've known about this region for years thanks to my mother bringing bottles home from her German travels.
Wines Of India I think what makes it easy for me to remember these wines is the unusual bottle shape, called the Bocksbeutel, a flat and round distinctive glass bottle. Some have corks, others have screwcaps and the glass is either green or brown. But they're also memorable for the good wine inside.

The best advice I can give a young man or woman with hedonistic ambitions but little money is to make friends with someone who owns a boat and someone who has a fabulous wine cellar.
Red Wine In India I bought a boat once. I named it Albatross. The expense and frustration taught me the wisdom of having a pal with a pleasure craft.
Wine From India I have a little wine cellar, but nothing like that of a rich friend who once opened 52 top cabernet sauvignons so a famous wine writer could get tasting notes, then put the bottles on a table and invited over 20 pals, including me True, as a wine writer, I sometimes get invited to tastings set up by distributors for wine shop owners, restaurant wine buyers and the media. I’ve tasted 1961 Bordeaux, top burgundies and exotic pinotages this way. And featured today are some of those fabulous wines.

Red Wine In India Farrell learned winemaking in the late 1970s with Sonoma’s pinot noir specialists Robert Stemmler and Davis Bynum. Farrell made his first pinot noir in 1982, and over the next twenty years, Farrell’s name and top-flight Russian River Valley pinot noirs were synonymous.
