KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) — One of the most enjoyable wine regions in the Pacific Northwest to visit is the northern Willamette Valley.
Shipping Wine To India While liking Pinot Noir will help here in the heart of Oregon wine country, it isn't required. Plenty of wineries not only make such white wines as Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Riesling, but some also bring in warm-climate grapes from Southern Oregon, including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Cabernet Shiraz The northern Willamette Valley is less an hour's drive from downtown Portland, and it combines tranquil vineyards and tree-lined countryside with enjoyable small towns. It is a fantastic touring experience, thanks to more than 100 wineries and at least 15 B&Bs.
After years of being passed over for single-variety wines such as cabernet sauvignon and pinot noir, a new wave of blended red wines made in a crowd-pleaser style — and priced at a budget-friendly $9 to $12 a bottle — is winning favor with consumers.
Grover Vineyards India “They’re drinking the red blends,” says Doug Bell, national wine and beer buyer for Whole Foods Market. The wines tend to be “kind of plush, very fruity, very smooth,” and offer an alternative to consumers who want to try red wines but aren’t looking for the traditional single-grape varieties.
Shipping Wine To India Wines made from more than one red grape aren’t new, of course. The classic Bordeaux blends from France generally are made from a blend of six grapes, with the predominant grapes being cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot. And even single-variety wines aren’t necessarily pure. By law, they can contain up to 25 percent of a grape different from what’s listed on the label.
Staglin Vineyards . The couple, whose son was diagnosed with schizophrenia several years ago, founded IMHRO (International Mental Health Research Organization) to fund research into better treatments and cures for the “Big 3? psychiatric disorders: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression. Currently they donate 100% of profits from their Salus wine label to support this initiative. Notes Garen Staglin, “Of the $140 Million we have raised, virtually 100% of that money has gone directly to research, not to salaries and administration like so many charities.” Read the full Forbes story on the Staglin Family and their journey in the battle against mental health disorders here.
Wines To India Staglin also opens the winery for a grand music festival/fundraiser for IMHRO each fall. This year’s September 15 th event features 70 of the top wineries in America pouring their best offerings. Guests will also enjoy music from Jermaine Jackson. The Festival kicks off with a scientific symposium, featuring keynote speaker Jeffrey Lieberman, M.D, Chair of Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Grover Vineyards India is the newest venture from Charles and Ali Banks, former owners (along with partner Stan Kroenke) of Screaming Eagle winery . “When we were part of Screaming Eagle,” observes Charles, “We loved the giving back part of it,” noting the obscenely high bids that Screaming Eagle wines would fetch at charity auctions. The idea of giving back in a more consistent way, and Ali Banks’ passion for social entrepreneurship, formed the soul of Cultivate. Ten percent of every dollar earned is donated to causes that people can vote for on the company website, and funding is open to most causes.

DENVER — Englishman Ben Parsons was tired of seeing wine sipping presented as a pinkies-up affair when he launched his urban winery, Infinite Monkey Theorem, in Denver in 2008.
Wine Business In India With $350,000 in startup money, Parsons’ crew crushed mostly Colorado grapes in a Denver alley and shipped wine bottles labeled not with chateaus and grapevines but a grittier, graffiti-like etching of a chimpanzee.
Wine Prices In India Last year, the winery started selling some of its wine in slim, handheld aluminum cans, the better for active Colorado drinkers to tuck its wines away for a sip while skiing, camping, fishing, hiking, rafting or biking. The winery threw a party inside the Smuggler Mine in Aspen to celebrate its canned creations, with women in cocktail dresses and high heels gamely agreeing to sign waivers before traipsing through the old silver mine wearing helmets.
