Wine Society Of India Winemakers will tell you that wine is created in the vineyard, and that a connection to the land is key to their craft. For Native American winemaker Tara Gomez, that connection goes back thousands of years. Gomez is a member of the Santa Ynez Band of the Chumash. She's also the winemaker for Kita, the tribe's new winery.

You probably already know Kim Crawford, New Zealand's famous producer of sauvignon blanc, but now you need to look for 2013 - the vintage of a lifetime.
Wine To India I am already a big fan of New Zealand wines, but it looks like things are about to get even better. Much better.

Wineries across Pennsylvania and Maryland respond to questions about the effects of the heat on what visitors are tasting and buying.
Wines In India Elkrun.jpg Elk Run Vineyard and Winery, in Mt. Airy, Md., were among several wineries that said they were seeing an increase in interest of their white wines.
Red Wine India So, how has the heat affected not only what wineries are selling but what people are tasting when they get there? Finally, are they steering away from the heavy reds? A number of regional wineries responded to those questions in an overnight email, and here's what they had to say. My thanks to all who took the time to write back.
