For the past eight years, sparkling wine sales have continued to grow in the United States. This includes Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, and sparkling wines made from regions all over the world.
Chenin Blanc India Although we are learning that bubbles are not just for celebrating anymore, the holiday season is when we enjoy them the most. Champagne and sparkling wine producers record approximately 40 to 50 percent of their sales in the month of December! Champagne is a wine term that can cause some confusion for the average consumer. Like all other sparkling wines, Champagne is wine with carbon dioxide, which gives it the bubbles. What makes it Champagne is that the grapes are grown and the wine is produced in the Champagne region of France from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. It is produced in the "Méthode Champenoise," which requires a second fermentation in the same bottle in which the final product is sold.
Late Harvest Chenin Blanc (dessert Wine) India While the term "champagne" is used by some makers of sparkling wine in other parts of the world, including the United States, many countries in the European Union have agreed to not call their sparkling wine champagne and to leave this exclusive name for the producers in the Champagne region of France.

The Christmas packages have been torn apart to find goodies inside. Kids are outside in their coats riding their bikes and scooters. I have settled down in my wingback chair, complete with a glass of the recently released Bernhardt Tawny Port, reflecting on what has happened in this year of economic chaos. Looking back over the past 12 months, I could not help but notice many changes in the Texas wine industry such as: The number of Texas wineries is approaching 200; almost double that of 2 and 1/2 years ago. Wine production has obviously risen, along with Texansâ?? thirst for Texas-made wines.
Sauvignon Blanc India Wineries have opened in our area the last 12 months which includes the boutique winery called CORK THIS! in Montgomery; a Texas-history proud winery called Retreat Hill between Plantersville and Navasota; and Lost Hen Winery in Bryan. Eric Love is about to open his new winery just south of Richards.
Chenin Blanc India The Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail has blossomed into the second most popular wine trail in Texas, second only to the Texas Hill Country Wine Trail. This wine trail on the northwest side of the Houston Metro area is seeing great popularity in less than two years.

Want to mail order a special bottle of Chardonnay for that holiday toast? It might be a little harder than you think, despite a new law that lets wineries send bottles directly to Tennessee residents' doors.
Rosé India Nearly 160 wineries, including a handful in Tennessee, have signed up to take part in the state's 6-month-old direct shipment program. But with more than 5,000 winemakers nationwide, some connoisseurs say finding a grower that will ship has been difficult.
Sauvignon Blanc India But the low limit placed on the number of bottles that a customer can buy from a single winery — no more than three dozen a year — combined with the cost of getting a license and complying with Tennessee state laws have discouraged more wineries from taking part.

--> The wind blows steady and cold across Seneca Lake, and the vineyards that were ripe with fruit six weeks ago are now bare sticks splayed on frames of wire and wood.
Late Harvest Chenin Blanc (dessert Wine) Harvest is over and the grapes are pressed. Winery tanks are full with juice, and fermentation is turning the 2009 harvest into wine for 2010 and beyond.
Cabernet Shiraz India Winter is setting in over the Finger Lakes and its cold, gray days help crystallize myth vs. reality in an industry built around romance.
